About SATS QUIZ

Welcome to our website where you can get some practice in, doing quizzes with questions taken from real SATs papers. And the best thing is, they are marked for you.

Not sure what SATs are? In England, children in Year 6 are given these tests at school in May. Of course, teachers will give children practice at school. But if your child would like some more practice, SATS QUIZ makes this easy because it actually marks the answers (except the reading tests). Busy teachers will appreciate this too!

Complete 45-minute tests are available, plus quick workouts (1-minute, 5-minute and 10-minute durations), that can be used over and again as the questions are picked at random, making the quiz different each time.

The tests are much more about testing the school rather than the child, but inevitably, some children can find them quite stressful. We hope children will enjoy completing the quizzes and challenging themselves to do better, but if your child is not enjoying it, or is becoming overly anxious, then do remember, SATs are not exams to be passed or to fail. The outcome is not likely to have any bearing on your child’s future. Also, some questions are really, really tough! Many adults would have a hard time getting them right. The tougher questions are there to challenge the really bright kids, giving them a chance to shine. The way the tests are designed, no-one is expected to get everything right, especially in the short time allowed. So, basically, relax. If your child isn’t enjoying the challenge, that’s cool. Let them do something they do enjoy.

Spellings: The spelling tests come with recordings of the words to be spelt, so you don’t have to read out the words, and students can check their own work.

Printing: No scores or answers are saved, but you can print the work, using your browser’s standard PDF software.

Hints: We also offer versions with hints for each question. Hints give helpful reminders of basic knowledge, at the time it’s needed.

English Reading papers: These are not marked for you but they can be completed on-screen (with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program). This saves a lot of paper, administration and time.
